Safety / Dare Rules

Last updated: June 14, 2026

Dares should make the group laugh, not put anyone at risk. These rules apply to preset dares, custom ideas, group messages, and any dare performed outside the app.

Entertainment only. No betting, no gambling, no money prizes.

Keep dares safe, friendly, consensual, and legal.

1. Safe, friendly, consensual only

Keep dares safe, friendly, consensual, reversible, and appropriate for everyone in the group.

Players should be able to skip or refuse any dare that feels unsafe, uncomfortable, or inappropriate.

A dare is only acceptable if the person doing it freely agrees and can stop without pressure or punishment.

2. Prohibited dares

No violence, sexual content, humiliation or degradation, illegal activity, dangerous physical challenges, discrimination or hate, medical or health risk, or financial punishment.

Do not pressure players into sharing private information, spending money, drinking, risky stunts, or anything that could harm work, family, or relationships.

Do not use dares to bully, shame, threaten, harass, exclude, or target someone based on identity, background, health, beliefs, or personal circumstances.

3. Refusing or changing a dare

Any player can refuse a dare. The group should accept that immediately and choose a lighter alternative or skip it.

If a dare causes discomfort, stop. The point of DareCup is group fun, not pressure or embarrassment.

4. Creator moderation

DareCup provides game tools and safe preset ideas, but groups are responsible for their own conduct and decisions.

League creators should moderate behavior, remove unsafe suggestions, and make sure invite links are shared only with people who understand the rules.

When in doubt, choose a lighter dare or skip it.

5. Report a safety concern

If you see unsafe behavior connected to a DareCup league, email hello@darecup.com with the league link and a short explanation.
